Roadmap

Where the fly is

No dates we can't keep. This is what's done and what's next. Every step is an experiment in the open repository, reported whether it works or not.

  1. Done
The whole brain runs. 166,700 neurons and 25.6M connections, simulated in real time.
  2. Done
Its eyes are wired in. Looming and chase signals reach the right command neurons, on the correct side.
  3. Done
It fights online. It plays SSH Fighter as a bot, with a live view of every neuron firing.
  4. Done
GPU brain. 6.3× faster on a laptop GPU, and now many flies can run at once.
  5. Done
Open source. Code, notebook and this site are public.
  6. Done
Eight flies vote. Eight copies of the brain decide together. They chase harder (72% of moves toward the opponent, against 63% for one fly) and make fewer random moves.
  7. Done
$FLYAI launched on Pons, on Robinhood Chain. Fair launch: all of the supply in the pool, liquidity burned, no team allocation, no tax. The contract address is on the token page and on @flydotai only.
  8. Done
It won a match. The brain was thinking too slowly — eight copies voting took twice as long as a game frame, so the fly acted two frames late. Running two copies put it back in real time, and it won its first fight, two rounds to none.
  9. Now
Sharper senses. Retuning how the game reaches the fly's looming neurons made its punch signal clearly better in replays. Next: learning to dodge. The brain itself stays untouched.
  10. Done
A world to fly in. Out of the 2-D fighting game and into a 3-D world: dozens of flies, each its own copy of the brain, foraging, tracking odour plumes, mating, laying eggs and dying. Open it here.
